House guest Ellie with The Olly Girls ”Ellie really enjoyed her stay with you and The Olly Girls, and we were really happy that she spent three weeks in a home from home and was not cooped up in kennels. Thank you - it made leaving her and going on holiday so much easier.”

“Thank you so much for coming down and walking Roofie with us. And it was lovely to meet the lovely Holly too.

“I think we are more confident with the techniques for handling Rufus now. It’s still slow progress but I think progess is being made. I know I’m finding walks a lot less stressful, in fact the majority I’d say are really pleasant now. If he does have a spat it is over quite quickly and I feel more in control.

“So thank you so much, you’ve been very generous and kind to us.”

“Wow, I noticed such a big difference in Billie last night.

I went out to get my car and came home, I went into the living room and Lianne said that she didn’t bark. I was like - yaay!!

“I can’t wait to get home tonight to do more training with her. I even instigated play with her last night for 15 minutes and then took her toys away (I felt awful for doing it) but ended on a high like you said. She kept going to my bedroom door where I had put the toys away but I did what you said by moving her away from the door. After a while she got the message and went in her bed.

“They then went out and came home later on in the evening.  Billie didn’t even move or make a sound when they came home. I was so impressed.

“I was up at 6am this morning taking her for an hours walk, she did tug on the short lead but I kept correcting her like you said. OMG this is now going to be my life from now on, but to see the results in my baby it’s definitely worth it.

“Gosh I feel like I didn’t take in everything you said but its weird how I have remembered most of it when I do little things.”

“I have found Eleanor’s visit very constructive and helpful - covering faults in two very different dogs.”

maxMax is not a badly behaved dog, but there are elements of his behaviour that we wanted to improve. Our efforts were in vain until a visit to the local pet shop where we meet Eleanor. We chatted with her to find out her approach to dog behaviour and arranged for Eleanor to visit.

“Clear and simple solutions were offered in a professional and understanding manner by Eleanor. We are still a “work in progress” but we have new ideas and avenues to explore, it’ll take time, but thanks to Eleanor we both feel that we will get there.”

“I found Eleanor’s confidence and instructions really helpful, and I felt able to cope with her being there. I feel that the follow-up will be vital for me.”

“Thank you so much for your time and advice regarding Sheba. The advice and information you gave me helped so much by giving some new approaches for the unwanted behaviours, reinforcing and ‘tweaking’ the things we were already doing, and have helped us build on the successes we had already achieved.

“Your positive and reassuring style have helped us move forward from the plateau we had reached, and you have inspired us to improve Sheba’s life even further by our strong and assertive leadership in all situations. Every time we go out for a walk I think about the things you said, and they are really making a difference.

“Again, many thanks for all your help.”

5-yr-old-alfie-boundy“We have a Huntaway cross Labrador which results in a rather clumsy, energetic, loud, and huge dog! We were having a few issues with Alfie barking, leaping at people as they walk through the front door (eager to greet) knocking them flying, making so much noise at people walking past the house, and also more seriously being aggressive to some other dogs – particularly males!

“We heard that Eleanor was the lady to speak to and arranged for her to come and do a consultation with us. During the consultation she suggested ways of dealing with each of the issues and gave us exercises to practice with Alfie – all based around our behaviour as the owners and how we should react in each of the circumstances.

“I am very pleased (and relieved) to say that we are noticing clear positive results, Alfie will now sit and wait when someone knocks at the door and actually lets them into the house without trying to drown them with kisses! He walks to heel whilst on the lead and is better behaved with other dogs. Alfie actually seems more content and relaxed as a result. Thank you Eleanor!!”

“I have a King Chpippaarles Spaniel who was completely above her station, and thought, I’m sure, she could take on any other dog from a Shitsu to a German Shepherd!! She also had springs for back legs and jumping up was a real issue.

“I have been practicing the techniques that Eleanor suggested and although we have a way to go I can see a definite improvement. Eleanor explained to me how Pippa had taken on the leader role and I had to reclaim that title in the house. Work in progress but like I say, an improving situation.

“Thanks Eleanor!”

“Our dogs Sally and Sam are both quite old, and although the saying goes ‘you can never teach an old dog new tricks’ we wanted to test this theory. Sally can be aggressive towards some dogs, and Sam gets scared and anxious of loud noises from the television and fireworks.

“After our initial consultation we implemented Eleanor’s suggestions and did notice a difference in our dogs. Sam will now lie on the living room floor of an evening whilst we’re watching television.

“We did continue to have a problem with Sally’s aggression so Eleanor came back for a follow up session. We took Sally for a walk past our neighbour’s house where a dog lives who Sally is aggressive towards. As soon as we walked past Eleanor noticed that I was looking towards the neighbour’s house anticipating their dog to come out and Sally to react. Eleanor advised that because I was looking and feeling anxious Sally was picking up on this and mirroring my emotions. Aggression is a consequential behaviour of the fear and anxiety in a dog. Sally is aggressive with some dogs but not all because I’m anxious and expecting her to become aggressive so she does, she’s feeling my energy.

“Eleanor suggested that in future I simply walk past the house looking straight ahead in a calm assertive manner. If Sally looks towards the house in more than just a curious way then I’m to correct this behaviour. I’m pleased to say that I have noticed a difference in Sally, although she is still a work in progress. She is still sometimes aggressive but I have noticed that it’s when I’m anxious of the situation. I have to remember to be her calm assertive leader.”

“We found Eleanor to be very friendly and at the same time have a professional approach. She explained the techniques to be used in a clear and concise manner. She was also well informed and gave us time to ask questions at our pace. The fact that she left reading materials for us to refer to when we need was very helpful. Also being able to email or phone gives us the support we need.

“Pip, Paul and Lin are now moving forward and are very pleased with their progress.”
